Antique Victorian Gold-Filled Mourning Locket, Black Enamel

245,00€Price
  • This beautiful antique Victorian locket is a true treasure, likely dating back to the late 19th century (between 1870 and 1900). It is crafted in gold-filled, rolled gold with striking black enamel. The locket is in yellow gold tone.

The oval-shaped locket is adorned with intricate details, blending geometric and floral elements. At its center is a gorgeous black enamel flower motif with a star inlaid at the middle, holding a delicate white pearl. Surrounding this are ornate engravings and a bold Greek key pattern in black enamel, a design that became popular during the revival of classical styles in the late Victorian period. The back features an elegant engine-turned engraving for added texture and beauty.

Open it up, and there’s space for a picture, lock of hair, or another keepsake. It currently holds an old photograph of a woman. Please note, there’s no frame or cover inside.
