Antique Victorian 14ct Gold, Amethyst & Pearl Tassel Necklace
A rare and fabulous Victorian necklace featuring a central oval amethyst and a pearl, and fine white enameling decoration around the stone. It is made of 14ct gold.
The pendant has the typical mid-Victorian flexible graduated fringe. The fringe details are actually from the Renaissance, or even earlier period. Nine swinging tassels elegantly drape from a hinged u-shaped rail. Resting in the center of the piece is a delightful oval shaped amethyst and a pearl.
We just love the fringe tassels that dance with every step! It is definitely a dramatic piece.
