Antique Floral Enamel Photo Locket with Guilloche Pattern

120,00€Price
  • A lovely oval-shaped locket with intricate guilloché enamel work on the front, likely from the late 19th to early 20th century. The locket features a delicate hand painted floral wreath composed of pink and purple roses with green leaves, painted in fine detail. A black diagonal stripe adds contrast. The back of the locket is plain, free of design. It is probably made of 800 silver (not tested).

The locket opens to hold two pictures, currently containing images of a woman and a man from an old era.

Guilloché enamel is a technique that involves engraving a pattern into the metal before applying layers of translucent enamel. This type of jewelry was particularly popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, especially in the Edwardian period (early 1900s) and the Art Nouveau period (circa 1890-1910).
