Antique Art Nouveau Garnet & Sapphire Heart Locket
This charming antique Art Nouveau/Jugendstil heart-shaped locket dates back to the early 1900s (around 1901-1910). The locket is made of rolled-gold (vergoldet) metal, crafted in Germany.
On the front, you'll find a delicate engraving of flowing lines, highlighted by two red stones (likely rubies or garnets) and one blue stone (possibly sapphire). The faceted stones are bezel-set into the design, adding a pop of color to this elegant piece. The combination of the gold color, rubies, and sapphires was a popular choice in sentimental jewelry from this era.
The locket opens up to hold a small photo or memento, perfect for keeping a loved one close. There's no frame or glass inside, just a sweet space for something meaningful.
The back of the locket is simple and plain. Its smooth, polished surface gives off a modern vibe!
