Antique 8ct Gold "Faith, Hope & Charity" Pearl Pin Brooch
This antique 8ct gold brooch is a gorgeous piece featuring Heart, Cross and Anchor, very Victorian combination, with two small pearls in the centers of Heart and Anchor. The pin brooch possibly dates back to the late Victorian or early Edwardian era.
This detailed piece is small yet very much sentimental one. The Cross, Anchor and Heart represent Faith, Hope and Charity or Love respectively. These three theological virtues were often depicted in the works of jewelers in the late 18-19 centuries. It is believed that the jewelry with symbols of the Cross – Anchor – Heart came into vogue in the 1830s, and after that the triad remained popular.
This piece would be a very meaningful gift!
